Wild Flours is back with bread this week. Stock up enough for 2 weeks as they are on a bi-monthly schedule right now.

Marcy James returns and you don’t want to miss her Strawberry or Strawberry Peach or well, any of them:0.

Double Star Bar Farms is off the market for 2 weeks and we look forward to their return.

White City Produce &Greenhouse is with us this week

Rocky Glade Farm is as well with :

Swiss chard, radishes, spinach, lacinato kale, yukina savoy greens, Braising Mix (mix of purple pop, rosy rapa mustard greens), and kale

The Krafty Kupboard has restocked hummus! It’s incredible taste and convenience is one we cannot do without for a quick meal addition or snack on the go!

Don’t forget Dogwood Valley has those awesome begonia planters and daffodil vases to perk up any winter home!

Lots on offer this week and a couple vendors away!

Linda at Dogwood Valley Greenhouse sends this:
Spring is almost here! The daffodils are in glorious bloom at Dogwood Valley Greenhouse! Brighten your dining table or bedroom with one dozen beautiful long-stemmed garden-fresh blooms, in a pretty vase tied with a bow. Flowers have white petals and yellow centers, and are very fragrant, my garden favorite for many years. This bouquet is perfect for gift-giving to someone special or to yourself.

The late winter-flowering perennials are also beginning to bloom in the greenhouse. Look for weekly additions to the market under “Live Plants”.

Wild Flours wants everyone to note that their elderberry syrup and ground flours/meal is available each week. The breads are available every other, this is an off week. Than you!

Rocky Glade is away this week as well as White City Produce & Greenhouse

Frontier Family Farm is with us and continues to provide superior greens!

Flying S Farms has a new muffin listed!: Their Delicious Bran Raisin Muffins are a great way to start your morning or have a delicious snack during the day. Wonderful balance of Bran and Raisins with a hint of cinnamon to enjoy with your coffee or a glass of milk.

Next week is Valentine’s Day! This year, instead of a box of chocolate, why not give something different? Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has begonia planters dressed up for the holiday and guaranteed nonfattening! They are under “Live Plants —> Houseplants” as well as under “Seasonal Items”. Quantities are limited, so order yours soon. For your gardening Valentine, we also have Gift Certificates custom completed in any denomination you choose. “Think outside the box” of chocolates this year!

Rocky Glade Farm is here this week, which means Dylem and Caleb’s eggs are as well!
They also bring:
Yukina Savoy (Asian green like tatsoi, very mild), Kale, Spinach, Bok Choi, Swiss Chard, Garlic Bundles, Butterkin Winter Squash (you can use this to make butternut soup!), and our last few bottles of honey for this season! (Stock up!)

I want to take a moment to thank our gracious host, L & L Contractors for setting aside time and space in their office home to allow market pickup! If you see Tammy at the front desk or any of the welcoming staff, please say hello! Just looking around in their building says a lot about their care and craftsmanship!

This week brings White City Produce & Greenhouseback and Rocky Glade off.

Frontier Family Farm is providing some amazing Brussels Sprouts, spinach and lettuces to get us through the winter produce needs. We have used the spinach in soups and fritters! YUM!

Jenny with Seeds of Success has a new, updated and gorgeous website: sostn.com
Try some, or all, of her seasonings on your own gourmet creations and check out some customer favorites such as the chick patties!

Farrar Farms has you covered in the beef department with steaks, chorizo and bones for your stock pot! A 5th generation farm in Lynchburg: “We allow our cattle to grow up naturally without the use of any artificial growth hormones, steroids, or other additives. In addition to leisurely grazing the beautiful pasture on the rolling hills of Farrar Farm, our cattle also get an additional (and, at least if you’re a cow, delicious) supplement feed of spent mash from the local distilleries. The outcome is tastier, more tender beef, happier and healthier cows, and a better environment.”

Check out the duck sausage from Wedge Oak it gets rave reviews from customers!

Benjamin’s Organic Sprouts is Back with the alfalfa, broccoli and zesty mix! All great for sandwiches and salads or just popped into your mouth for a delicious snack.

Wild Flours will be off for 2 weeks and then back the second week of February! They will be with us every other week so be sure to stock up.

Flying S Farms and Double Star Bar Farms also have incredible breads!

Want to try Botanical Harmony Farm soap but not commit to the large bar? Try the sale cuts (which actually we have run out of so are cutting perfect bars in half because the cuts are so popular!). They are $2.50 a cut and we choose the scent. What a deal! \Organic, all-natural AND affordable.

This weather is gearing thoughts towards gardens and flowers!! Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has a few lovely hanging baskets and house plants to keep your fingers green until time to dig deep in the soil!

The market is back open for ordering with a regular pickup schedule!

WELCOME BACK! to Nom Noms Dog Treats -
She has listed some new products along with old favorites!! We are excited to have her and the treats back with the market!
Try the Fruity Pibbles— These treats are a smoothie with flour then baked. They are hand made with gluten/wheat free flour, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, apples, and water. They taste as amazing as they sound. $1.00 of every bag goes directly to local spay/neuter efforts. Your dog gets some super healthy treats and another dog gets much needed vet care.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse send this note:

Bring the garden inside for the winter! Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has a large selection of beautiful hanging baskets and houseplants to help make your winter home more comfortable by raising the humidity and the oxygen content of the air a little bit. The multi-colored foliage of our Rex begonias and various-colored blooms of our Christmas cacti will really raise your spirits during the dreary winter months. Good morning and we hope you are all warm and safe after last night’s severe storms.

We have many new items listed this week from Valentine Family Farm: seasonings to herbal remedies!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has a light pink and a red Christmas cactus listed. These are GORGEOUS plants to have or to gift! My mother gave me some several years ago and they continue to provide much needed winter cheer with their right-on-time for Christmas showy blossoms! I have even forced a second bloom by repotting!

White City Produce & Greenhouse will be with us this week.

Ann E May’s Gluten Free Goodies has listed several new items this week and will have a table set up for tasting! EVEN if you aren’t “gluten free” these baked goods are wonderful treats!

As I type this and try to think of all the wonderful items to mention on the market… I think of ALL our vendors because everything is wonderful!!

Nature’s Wealth added popcorn that has been grown “on the mountain” for over 30 years! It is small-grained, tender, and hulless. It is DELICIOUS!!!

we have jams, jellies, tempeh, meat of all kinds, milk, yogurt, eggs, baked goods, soaps, and so so much more to choose from!

If you don’t usually take time to browse for a new staple item, please do.. we probably have it!

You know that amazing space we have for market pickup? L & L Contractors graciously extends a community welcome to us each week! What a gift and a blessing! We thank them so very much for the hospitality!

We hope this note finds you well and ready for a new week! We have still so much local goodness available from our incredible community of growers/makers/fishermen! This market has such beautiful abundance doesn’t it?

White City Produce and Greenhouse* is with us this week and next!

Frontier Family Farm continues to provide tender peas and out of this world brussel sprouts. The peas are great raw and in salads. If you are unsure of Brussels sprouts, try steaming and with butter and seasoning. Don’t overcook, that is what gives them a bad name.

Flying S Farms has added several delicious-looking cakes to their lineup. A red velvet and white layer cake which could be a wonderful holiday desert addition.

The Krafty Kupboard added more giftables to the selections at amazing, mark-down prices.

Dylem and Caleb will be back next week with eggs!
