Trouble sleeping? Can’t even find any sheep to count? Try this concoction 30-40 minutes before bed to help you calm and rest peacefully. Lemon Balm, Valerian, Lavender, and Ginger Lavender has been used to treat anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and skin irritations.   Lemon Balm has been used to reduce stress and anxiety, and to treat indigestion and nausea. It has also been used to calm fretfulness and relieve headaches. Chamomile promotes sleep and boosts immunity. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic properties. Ginger is a synergist, both with herbs and antibiotics. Valerian is often used to relieve stress, tension, insomnia, and nervous system disorders, as well as some cases of anxiety. For many it is relaxing and stimulating. For a select few, it may be stimulating. Steep for 30-60 minutes depending on desired strength. Drink hot, at room temperature, or iced. Avoid boiling the water while the herbs are present. Consider using a French press or easy to clean loose tea device (like those we offer in brewing accessories). Take at desired strength based on effectiveness (sometimes more is not better) for up to 2 weeks, then off a week. Drinking alcohol or operating vehicles or heavy machinery are not recommended after drinking this tea. Drink hot, at room temperature, or iced. Avoid boiling the water while the herbs are present. Consider using a French press or easy to clean loose tea device (like those we offer in brewing accessories).

This soap is absolutely my all time favorite. It’s made in small batches with honey from my family’s bee farm. The honey is combined with colloidal oats and sweet almond oil to create a sweet smelling and ultra moisturizing bar. The honeycomb imprint (shown in picture) on the top of each bar adds a charming touch as well.

Dwarf Solomon's Seal is probably the "cutest" plant I have in the greenhouse. A small perennial ground cover 6-10” tall and slowly spreading to 2 to 3 feet after several years, this elegant plant forms dense and orderly colonies of small glossy dark green leaves. Keep it weeded as it fills in. It prefers part sun, preferably in morning, to full shade. Let it fill in between ferns, hellebores, hosta, and rhododendrons in the woodland or shaded rock garden. In mid-spring it will bloom with small creamy white pendulous flowers, typical for polyogonatums, emerging from the crotch of the leaf and stem. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Giant Solomon's Seal is a native herbaceous perennial wildflower found in moist forested areas and roadbanks in the eastern U.S.A. and Canada. As its common name suggests, this is a large Soloman seal reaching heights of 3 to 5, occasionally 7 feet. Plant it in medium to wet average soil in partial to full shade, though it does best with some sun. It has attractive large leaves and clusters of white bell-shaped flowers that hang down. It will spread in the landscape through its rhizomes, but it is very difficult to propagate by seed. P. biflorum, P. commutatum, P. giganteum, and P. canaliculatum are occasionally used synonyms. Use it in a rain, woodland or cottage garden, the back of a border, or let it naturalize in your yard. Just make sure it has plenty of room as this plant is larger than other Solomon seals. It has no serious diseases, insects, or other plant problems.

Variegated Solomon's seal, hardy in zones 3 to 8, grows 2-3 feet tall in small clumps. It blooms in late spring to early summer with pure white, showy, fragrant tubular flowers on short stems that droop in pairs along and beneath the arching stems. In fall blue-black berries hang downward from leaf axils. It is a low-maintenance plant that grows best in dry shade to part shade. Uses: naturalizing, rain garden, woodlands, naturalized areas, shady borders, and shady rock gardens. It tolerates drought, heavy shade, erosion, dry soil, and wet soil. Solomon's Seal combines well with ferns and hostas, and is deer resistant. Its foliage is attractive in flower arrangements. The Latin name for this plant is Polygonatum odoratum var. pluriflorum 'Variegatum'. The genus name means "many", and gonu means "knee joint" in reference to the jointed plant rhizomes. Early herbalists believed that plants with jointed rhizomes were helpful in treating human joint disorders. The specific epithet comes from the Latin word odoratus meaning "sweet-smelling," in reference to the fragrance of plant flowers.

Red-veined sorrel, Rumex sanguineus, has pointed, bright lime-green leaves with dark red veins. Leaves are best harvested when young and used raw in salads. Sorrel is easy to grow, producing masses of pale green leaves. It’s a hardy perennial so can be treated as a cut-and-come-again crop, and leaves may even be harvested in mid-winter.

Penne noodles and chicken toasted in my garlic red sauce.Smothered with mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, parmesan cheeses, and finished with crushed red chili flakes and of course Italian herbs. Not designed to knock to your socks off spicy but this will have a distinct spiciness to it. This dish can be made without the crushed chili flakes. When placing the order just leave a note to exclude it! Sure to feed a family a four easily. Ingredients: Penne Pasta, chicken, San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, bay leafs, basil, mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, parmesan, parsley, thyme, rosemary, oregano, red crushed chili flakes, salt and pepper. Heating instructions. Leave out one hour prior to cooking* Preheat oven to 400 degrees f. Place in the oven and cook with foil on it for 45min. Remove the foil and cook for an additional 15 minutes. The top part should start to golden brown as this point. Cook until the internal temp reaches 165 degree f.
