Luffa What is a luffa? Think of a "scrubby" used in the shower. Maybe you think of a "sponge". Luffa is a vegetable and a member of the squash family. When small (about 6") it can be eaten like okra. But at East Fork Farm, we allow them to remain on the vine and grow all summer long until right before the first frost. At that point, they are pulled from vine, dried out, shucked of their outer hard flesh and stripped. This provides long cylindrical shaped sponge to use in many ways. We love our luffa. It has SO many uses. From cleaning your body to your pots (works great on cast iron), dishes, scrubbing showers, floors, to even a safe chew toy for dogs.

Great to add to those pasta salads or whatever you like to add them to. The chickens graze in a protected area and lay their eggs in their coop/barn. They are fed from chicken feed from Hoopers in Murfreesboro.

Elderberry syrup-with local honey, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger. Cinnamon contains healthy antioxidants and has been used to lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol. This soft and fluffy loaf mimics traditional English muffins and has those nooks and cranny’s to grab onto your favorite spread. My favorite characteristic of this loaf is that it doesn’t have the doughiness of a traditional English muffin. The loaf comes unsliced and ready to be enjoyed however you like.

Each of these air fresheners are made with my own essential oil blends. After unscrewing the wooden lid and removing the plastic stopper your air freshener is ready to go! Simply tip the bottle to release the oils onto the wooden cap for the scent to be released into the air.
