It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic properties, and may protect against diarrhea, stomach ulcers, nausea and gas. It has also been used to reduce muscle spasms and stomach ache. Nettle helps detoxify the body, promotes cardiovascular health, and alleviates allergic reactions. Nettle is used for joint ailments, as a diuretic, and as an astringent. It has also been used to treat frequent or painful urination. Goji Berries are an adaptogen, contain antioxidants, and are a great source of nutrition. They contain large amounts of vitamins A and C, B2, selenium, potassium, and iron, and have been used to treat fever. Steep 1 tbsp in 1 1/2 cups hot water for 10-15 minutes. Add honey or other sweetener to taste.

A very well done and traditional side of collard greens to enjoy with your next meal. Well balanced flavors of smoky, savory, fatty, sweet and sour, with a tad bit of spicy, are stewed with your greens in chicken stock for at least 2 hours before being finished. Ingredients: Collard greens, garlic, onions, bacon , butter, chicken stock, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Reheating instructions: Place collard greens onto microwave safe dish and cook for 45secs or until hot. or place onto a small pot or sauté pan over medium to high heat for 3 minutes or until hot.

Our native species of columbine, Aquilegia canadensis - commonly called eastern red columbine, wild red columbine, or Canadian columbine - is at its peak in spring when its dangling blooms offer ornamental interest and food for ruby throated hummingbirds. Its lovely floral display, ease of growing, and overall charm, make red columbine a great plant for the home garden. In the wild, red columbine is found in rocky woods, slopes, limestone outcroppings, ledges, or gravelly shorelines tolerating the salt spray and harsh conditions of the sea. Its native range is throughout the eastern United States and southeastern provinces of Canada, reaching a height of 2 to 3 feet. In the home garden, red columbine makes a great accent plant, adding movement and color to the part sun/part shade garden. It does not tolerate root competition from other plants and frequently doesn’t unpack its bags and stay in one place. As a short-lived perennial, it prefers to self-sow its abundant seeds and pop up in patches of bare soil – between rocks or nestled in a rock wall. Red columbine tolerates a variety of conditions. It prefers part shade and soil that is moist in spring and dries out in summer, but will tolerate full sun to full shade, varied degrees of moisture, and sandy, rocky, and fertile soils. Combine red columbine with northeastern beardtongue and spotted cranesbill in the part shade garden for a lovely early summer display. Columbine flowers are edible, but please restrict snacking to the plants in your own garden. For a sweet treat, hold the flower over your tongue and squeeze the flower to extract the nectar. Flowers can also be used as a garnish in salad. Other plant parts, including stems and roots, contain toxins and should not be eaten.

Native to Europe's high meadows and mountain slopes of the Alps, Aquilegia alpina, commonly known as Alpine Columbine, is a compact species with charming, bright violet-blue, bonnet-shaped, nodding flowers (2-3 in. wide; 5-7 cm), which rise elegantly on slender stems above a lovely fern-like, blue-green foliage. Columbines bloom in early to mid-spring They like medium to light watering once established in poor to average, but well-drained soil. Partial shade is preferred, but full sun is tolerated with slightly more watering. The highly attractive blooms are long-lasting cut flowers. Consider adding Aquilegia to rock gardens, shady borders, or in masses along walks or drives.

Also known as Alum Root, Heuchera is a beautiful genus of perennial foliage plants that will add a punch of color to any spot in your garden. This one is smaller & blacker than the other variety we offer. Coral Bells begin blooming in midspring and continue through the summer months. We suggest dead-heading to prolong the bloom season. Will grow in any well-drained alkaline soil. They generally prefer part shade, especially in our heat. They are drought tolerant, very cold hardy (Zone 4), and many of them will even stay evergreen through the winter.
