Also butter!
Michael will be set up at market each week, through the summer, to help us with deposits, jar exchanges and selling his extra, incredible produce! We thank him so very much for doing this for us!

Simmer and John of Short Mountain Cultures are also to be hugged and thanked for bringing us the offerings from Wise Butter and Nature’s Cornerstone Thanks to all for trying out some of these incredible treats and healthy options. This week, they have added water kefir in 2 different flavors! THE GRAPE IS INCREDIBLE! Ashleigh and I know the owner/maker of Nature’s Cornerstone and have loved his creations for a long time! Jason Provancha is a great local asset!

Good morning market family! Cannot believe it is May already! Bring on the shorts, sweet corn and summer vegetables ;D

First things first though, Linda with Dogwood Valley Greenhouse send this note:
Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has too many choices for your Mother’s Day shopping! We have added to the market several types of lovely flowering hanging baskets and some colorful planters with violas, snapdragons, and dianthus. Please check out our new terracotta herb planters as well. We’ve added a limited number of adorable miniature carnation “gardens in a vase.” And last, we have some tomato and pepper plants in gallon containers for Mother’s vegetable garden. Don’t forget about our beautiful perennial plants for Mother’s favorite garden spot (sun or shade, we have them all); herb plants for her culinary, medicinal, or ornamental garden; and foliage hanging baskets for her porch or patio. I will even be glad to deliver your purchase of $25 or more on Saturday if you prefer not to keep it for several days.

Catherine with Flying S Farms has added SLICED bread to her loaf offerings! If you are a clutz with the bread knife, THIS is your answer! You can still purchase her loaves unsliced if you are the “tear a hunk and eat it” lover! Awesome to have this option, Thanks Catherine!

Short Mountain Cultures is working with two new vendors this week. Nature’s Cornerstone and Wise Butter are both locally owned and operated but live just a bit too far to make it to market! Enter folks who love supporting local and want to bring some of the products they know and love to our market! Each product will clearly state who the maker is and about them!
We appreciate this opportunity to widen the offerings for our market!

If you took the milk survey, THANK YOU! We will have more information very soon!

Botanical Harmony Farm will have sprouts back next week. This week they add a garlic, mullein ear oil for minor ear aches/pain associated with seasonal colds and allergies. Our organically grown garlic along with wild harvested mullein flowers bring a gentle antibiotic effect and soothing pain relief. This ear oil is also wonderful for loosening wax in the ear and perfect for use before and after ear candling. Quantities are limited until this year’s mullein harvest and shelf life can be prolonged in the refrigerator!

Check out what Quinn’s Mercantile has inside that is perfect for Mother’s Day gifts~ Fill a beautiful basket that mom will go nuts over!

See ya on the porch!

We have the opportunity to have cow milk (for pet consumption) along with handcrafted butter on the market!
Michael Raines with Frontier Family Farms works closely with the Mennonite community in his area to bring us some of the wonderful goods they produce!

The milk producers want to get an idea of how much milk this market might purchase from them on a weekly basis. They also have lovely handcrafted butter to offer at this time.

If you are interested in purchasing milk in half-gallon glass jars for $3.50 per half PLUS a refundable $4 jar deposit, PLEASE click the link and take the survey so we can get this going as quickly as possible.

Two quick yes or no questions to answer!

Thank you for your patience in getting our milk replaced, we are excited to be able to offer it again. At this time, it will only be milk and butter.

WOW! SO much rain!! Welcome Spring indeed! Green plants are absolutely loving this feel, animals not so much!

Jenny with Seeds of Success will only be with us this week and next for ordering. She and her husband, Pat, are moving and we just don’t know what we will do without her! She moved to Murfreesboro, without a customer base, had a dream and fulfilled it beautifully! Thank you to all of you for helping to sprout and allow her seeds to grow along the way! She will be GREATLY missed!

This week Erdmann Farms is away but returns next week with kale, swiss chard, and peonies!

Ferris Family Farm brings us lots of green goodness along with carrots this week and his sections of bamboo root stock! Grow your own privacy fence, harvest the shoots when small for food and use the hardened canes for stakes in the garden!

Linda at Dogwood Valley Greenhouse sends this message:

Planting season continues in full swing, and the sequence of perennial blooms is in mid-season now. It’s important to keep sequence of bloom in mind so that your garden will always have some color. In bloom at Dogwood Valley Greenhouse this week are: Foamflower, variegated Jacob’s ladder, the late woodland phlox which is blue with a dark eye, all the gauras, white cranesbill, beardtongue, tradescantia, white salvia, and valerian. Continuing unabashed are: all the carnations (and oh how heavenly the fragrance!), dianthus, and dwarf coreopsis. Currently carrying large buds and ready to bloom in a few days are: all the colors of astilbes, the early coral bells, the foxgloves, the very early orange reblooming daylilies, and the white yarrows. The herbs are filling out too, with lemon balm, rosemary, and the mints leading the pack. Your garden needs some of these riotous colors and fantastic fragrances! Check out the pictures on the market, and clean off your trowels and work gloves. It’s time to plant!

Wild Flours has also announced that they will no longer be baking/selling to the public. They will miss the markets, vendors and customers they have met along their 7-year journey! We wish them all the best and perhaps one day they will decide to do it all again! You will be incredibly missed!

Thank you, market customers, for supporting Peyton and Andi Owen last week with their annual plant start sale! We do have the best customers!

Don’t forget that we can deliver to your door! Select delivery and add to your cart just as you would any product check that your address is correct in the system, set a cooler out and we will deliver during the normal pickup hours on Wednesday.
Delivery is restricted to the Murfreesboro area.

Good morning, here is what we have in stock for you this week!

Peyton and Andie Owen will be bringing us summer garden starts again this year on April 19 so you can plan ahead for supporting these wonderful entrepreneurs! They have a good assortment of summer garden veg plants!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse is bustin’ with blooming spring plants which would love to be in your garden. Now is a great time to plant perennials, even if they are types that will bloom later in the season. We’ve made most of the perennials and some of the ferns available in limited quantities, with more to follow soon. Some of the nicest bloomers this week are: Purple Columbine, Coreopsis, Creeping Phlox, Dianthus, Euphorbia, Hellebore (just one available), Phlox divaricata (a woodland phlox), Pincushion Flower, dwarf Solomon’s Seals, and Vinca (a very nice vine). The herb plants are all doing very well too, with the Valerian coming into bloom. Please be sure to check the Easter Planters, beautiful Rex begonias in nice ceramic planters that look like broken pastel eggs. We have only a very few of these left, and they’d make great table decorations for your Easter meal.

Botanical Harmony Farm will have zesty Mix and alfalfa sprouts this week along with stocked up Tea Tree/Mint with Activated Charcoal goat milk soap, Green Tea & Sea Clay and more! These are great for so many skin types! They also have Muscle Rub back in stock. A wonderful blend of herbal soothers from their fields and farm. Willow and Arnica are some wonderful analgesic helpers along with warming Cayenne and goldenrod for a wonderful aid in soothing sore muscles!

Good morning! We hope you are all well and ready for a great week ahead!

Warmer days are bringing wonderful things to the table!

Rocky Glade Farm is with us this week and has Radishes, swiss chard, spinach, carrots, romaine lettuce, casper kale

Linda from Dogwood Valley sends this note:
Spring is really, truly, finally here! The early spring bloomers are very happy in the greenhouse at Dogwood Valley, but would be even happier in your garden. Now is a great time to plant perennials, even if they are types that will bloom later in the season. The stock is great right now, although plants just coming out of hibernation are on the small side. I don’t have more than a dozen of many of them, fewer of some, so get yours now while the selection is good! Some of the nicest bloomers this week are: catchfly, carnations, coreopsis, Euphorbia, Lenten rose (just 1 available!), Phlox stolonifera, pincushion flower, and Vinca minor. The houseplants, hanging baskets, Rex begonias, and Aloe vera, are also very healthy and anxious to join your family. And the herb plants, starting their spring growth now, will be large enough to clip within a few short weeks.

Chef Jenny with Seeds of Success has Dill-icious is a great seasoning to transition from eating winter foods to enjoying spring favorites. Try it on: asparagus, sprouts, kale, spinach, peas, potatoes, hummus, and egg salad. It is a blend of nutritious sunflower seeds, dill, dehydrated onions, sesame seeds, turmeric, and a pinch of sea salt.

Wild Flours will be back this week and we hope they are all feeling much better!

Marcy Jams also returns this week!

Farrar Farms is away this week and returns next week.

Wedge Oak Farm is a local, family farm who provides us, consistently, with quality meat and eggs. Do check out what they have to offer! Duck, pork, chicken and more!
