Market is OPEN -- See you Wednesday!

Welcome to the September 26-27 Stones River Locally Grown Online Farmers Market!

New Fall and Winter Hours:
As the days get shorter we are adjusting our pickup times on the porch to 5-6:15. Please adjust your schedules accordingly!

Please share our market web address with your health-conscious friends, via text, email, or social media (and/or forward this message). https://stonesriver.locallygrown.net The more healthy members we have, the more variety of produce and product we can provide!

The Market opens at 8:00 am on Sunday morning and closes at 10:00 pm Monday evening. Order early before we run out of that one item you “must have!” You can always come back to order more (and some growers may identify added produce while the market is open).

We look forward to seeing you on the Porch this Wednesday from 5-6:30pm, with deliveries following. Know that our growers have the hour prior to get their products organized so things might be a bit hectic (and crowded) if you come early.

Please comment to the Manager when you checkout if you require curb service, and include your anticipated time of arrival so we can have your order ready and watch for your arrival.

Delivery Service is available for $10 within a 10 mile radius of Murfreesboro, outside areas additional $1.00 per mile is added. Delivery is also available to Woodbury at a host location. If this is the first time you’ve requested delivery please put your address in comments before you check out. Methods of Payment are Cash, Checks or Credit/Debit Cards or we can email an Invoice including a $1.00 Invoice fee. We are working on getting a Venmo account operational. Let us know if that would be something you would use. For Delivering Invoicing please make sure your account information is current.

FROM THE MARKET….Calling ALL CRAFTERS: The Market is looking for Crafters that would be interesting in selling items through the upcoming Holiday Season on the Market.  These items would be made by you – no resellers. This is a great opportunity to showcase items that you make or build. Example: Jewelry – necklaces, bracelets, earrings or Pottery or Rugs or Scarves or Woodwork or Metal Work etc.  Please contact us through the market email – or leave a voice message for the Manager and we will get back in contact with you.

News from Our Growers:

The Bean Man: We have our beans and bean mixes available. All of our products are fresh, non-gmo and tested gluten free with no glyphosates used in growth or harvest.  We always sell our products in the same season they were harvested. The Flours are Pinto, Red, Black and White made from our Fresh Beans as well as Tapioca and Brown Rice Flour which we don’t grow grow but do process and test per our procedures. I did ask before posting the last two at the market last Wednesday. We are looking to roll out Almond Flour later in October once we get our separate milling and processing area complete as well as our isolation procedures as it is an allergen and cannot be around our other products.

Mama D’s Bakery: Hi everyone! We have added a new item,  Hummingbird Cake (with a gluten/dairy free option too)! And in celebration of the season change we have brought our fall items back!! We now have Pumkin spice bagels, cake rolls, muffins, and Ginger Cookies available again. We will also have everything else available as well! We have a Sourdough Sandwich Loaf, Oatmeal Cookies,  Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, Strawberry Swirl Bread,  Raspberry Swirl Bread, and Apple Cinnamon Swirl Bread, Blueberry Muffins, Crusty French Bread, Organic White Wheat Bread, Mocha Muffins, Chocolate Swiss Roll, Cinnamon Rolls, Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, Blueberry Lemon Yeast Rolls, Banana Bread and Pumpkin Bread(with the option of nuts or not), Bagels(plain, cinnamon-raisin, blueberry, and everything), Donuts(cake and yeast), Cream Cheese Danishes, Pies(chocolate fudge, pecan, chocolate chip pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato), Cookies, Granola and Protein Bars, Yeast Breads, Sourdough Breads, and Fruit Scones. Thanks so much to everybody for your business!! Periwinkle and Pine Company: We have beautiful handmade wreaths, bouquets, and decor using high quality faux florals and greenery.

Singing Bee Honey: I am a third generation beekeeper with 15 beehives in Woodbury, Tennessee. The honey produced is 100% local, raw, unfiltered, and pure.

Flying S Farms:  Our produce this week includes: Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage, Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash, Carnival, Delicata, Spaghetti and Long Island Cheese Pumpkin (delicious), Clemson Okra, Green Sweet Peppers and Mountain Fresh Tomatoes.
Thank you everyone for your assistances helping with the market,  prayers, best wishes, cards, delicious meals during my absence. I believe the worst is over, still few more things that need to be done.

Carole’s Herbs/CS3 Farms: Check out our FB site /CS3Farms for our recently launched culinary herb lessons or email Carter for more information. You can learn about herbs to cook with that are also medicinal and test your knowledge! We will be having an on farm learning experience this Saturday, October 2, so mark your calendars!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: We still have lots of green and growing things! Trouble is, not too many of them are in bloom this time of year, and I feel rather badly about the lack of color. However, with the cooler fall-ish weather (which hopefully may stay around), it is a really good time to plant perennials. September planting gives perennials and shrubs an opportunity to establish a good strong route system before the ground takes on a winter chill. This in turn will allow them to initiate healthy top growth in early spring, followed by plentiful blooms. This week I’ve added several spring bloomers to the market (astilbes and columbines for shade, coreopsis and creeping phlox for sun), joining a few late bloomers with flowers now (begonias, gauras, sedum, rudbeckia, turtlehead). Don’t forget our fresh-cut herbs, or if you prefer to grow your own, our herb plants. Some of the latter are a bit overgrown, but that just gives you more fresh herbs to preserve for winter use.

NEW GROWERS Periwinkle and Pine Company
Beautiful handmade wreaths, bouquets, and decor using high quality faux florals and greenery.

Singing Bee Honey: I am a third generation beekeeper with 15 beehives in Woodbury, Tennessee. The honey produced is 100% local, raw, unfiltered, and pure. I do everything from managing the hives to harvesting the honey and labeling the jars. I have different jar sizes available and some squeeze bottles. Sizes range from 12oz (gift size) up to quart size (48oz) to appeal to different buyers. My plan is to continue to expand my apiary each year to increase inventory as return and new customers increase. Right now it is all liquid honey, but I plan to add cut comb honey next year.

Carole Herbs/CS3 Farms: We have lots of pumpkins/winter and summer squash and some herbal and regular tea, all of which is delicious cold or on ice for a hot summer day. The winter squash will keep for a couple months if not too warm, so stock up now for fall! We also have a little bit of ginger fig shrub available. Check our our FB site /CS3Farms for our recently launched culinary herb lessons. You can learn about herbs to cook with that are also medicinal and test your knowledge!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: We have several nice varieties of African violets, returning to the market after a few months’ rest. In the coming weeks I will be adding a few additional older varieties.  I’m also abundantly blessed with herbs to cut this season. Consider picking up some freshcut herbs loaded with flavor to dehydrate or freeze for winter use. If you’d prefer growing your own, I still have a good selection of herb plants available as well.

Mama D’s Bakery: We have a Sourdough Sandwich Loaf, Oatmeal Cookies,  Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, Strawberry Swirl Bread,  Raspberry Swirl Bread, and Apple Cinnamon Swirl Bread, Blueberry Muffins, Crusty French Bread, Organic White Wheat Bread, Mocha Muffins, Chocolate Swiss Roll, Cinnamon Rolls, Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, Blueberry Lemon Yeast Rolls, Banana Bread and Pumpkin Bread(with the option of nuts or not), Bagels(plain, cinnamon-raisin, blueberry, and everything), Donuts(cake and yeast), Cream Cheese Danishes, Pies(chocolate fudge, pecan, chocolate chip pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato), Cookies, Granola and Protein Bars, Yeast Breads, Sourdough Breads, and Fruit Scones. RnR Farms: New this week are our Crimson Sweet watermelons and surprise melons. We call them surprise melons because we grew these from saved seed, and so we have no idea what each melon will be. They are a honeydew/cantaloupe cross, and they have both orange and green flesh and are absolutely amazing. You may get a pure cantaloupe, or may get a pure honeydew. But chances are you will get some type of cross. Order multiple and we will make sure you get as many different melons as possible.

Short Mountain Cultures: We have many delicious and usable items to select from its hard to just select a few to highlight. Our Bulk Dry Products are plentiful, Fermented and Culture Products are always delicious and beneficial. We feature Hatcher Dairy Milks and various other products for body and health.
