Certainly hope everyone did well through last weeks weather. Would like to remind our customers if by chance there is severe weather please do not feel obligated to pickup your order, let me know and we can make other pickup arrangements. Safety First! We were able to get off ‘The Porch’ before worst of the rainstorm arrived but it was still a little scary with the lightning and rain!
News From Our Growers:
Short Mountain Cultures: We now offer a range of Hatcher Dairy Milk on SRM!! Our offerings include cream top whole milk, chocolate milk, half and half and heavy cream. Support local milk! It is some of the BEST milk around!
Wedge Oak Farm: Back this week with some delicious Meat items!
The Sugared Spoon: Our Chocolate Raspberry Cookies are available through Valentine’s Day. Assortments are always are great choice also.
Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: It’s daffodil time in Tennessee! Well, I hope it is. 70* weather at the first of the week brought the buds on too fast, then the beds where my daffodils are planted all flooded a foot deep! Lastly we had an inch of snow Thursday night and temperatures hovering around freezing all day Friday, which bowed down the tenderest, largest buds. Some of the first flowers may have been damaged, but the majority of the bed will be fine. So I’m going out on a limb and listing a few bouquets available this week. If those are sold when you place your order, go ahead and order one anyway, but know that I will be filling orders on a first come, first served basis. The daffodils will come on fast if we have warmish weather. They should be available for at least two more weeks after this one, so if you miss out on the early blooms, please try again next week. Thanks for your continued support and encouragement!
Mushamo Valley: This week Lion’s Mane is available, considered the lobster or crab of the mushroom world with a taste described as rich, buttery, sweet, and meaty…. NEW: Japanese curry buns are extremely flavorful and very mild! and Chinese peanut cookie traditionally served at the lunar new year, each cookie is approximately 1.5” and made of freshly roasted and ground peanuts.
Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Our arugula and mustard greens had a bit of snow on them the last few days, but they should be thawed out by market time…Our red pepper and rosemary thyme hummus are a great addition to salad, casseroles, sandwiches, or crackers…Try a gut-healthy shrub for great taste combined with nutritious ingredients.
Nom Noms Dog Treats: Our Dog Treats are nutritiously delicious doggie treats that help get dogs spayed/neutered. Our treats are gluten/wheat free, vegan, and full of good protein.
Flying S Farms: NEW this week by request Vanilla Cinnamon Raisin Friendship Bread. Fresh Farm Eggs, Salad Onions, Garlic Bulbs, Sour Dough and Artisan Style Bread, along with Jams and Jelly this week.
Sow’s Ear Piggery: Offering this week Boston Butt Roast, Pork Chops, Tenderized Cutlets, Shoulder (Picnic) Roast and Breakfast Sausage with Medium or Spicy Seasoning.
Caney Fork Farms: Our Winter Season schedule with the Market is monthly, next times will be February 26th and March 25th, returning weekly in April 2020.
