Last week of February already! I can almost smell the Spring air, seed orders are arriving and potting soil is being mixed up…I’m ready to get my hands dirty! Enjoy the market this week, Great Growers with Great Selections.

News From Our Growers:

Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): It’s forage greens salad time! Try our miner’s lettuce, wild rocket arugula and chickweed for a delicious, fresh, hand-picked, forage greens salad. Our Ginger Fig and Wolfberry Mint Shrubs are great for adding to your choice of beverage or salad. Both our Rosemary Thyme and Roasted Red Pepper Hummus can also dress up a salad, as well as chips, cut vegetable, or whatever you can imagine.

Short Mountain Cultures: We now offer a range of Hatcher Dairy Milk on SRM!! Our offerings include cream top whole milk, chocolate milk, half and half and heavy cream. Support local milk! It is some of the BEST milk around! Also be sure to check out our Tempeh (pronounced TEM-pay)it is a cultured, fermented plant based protein native to Indonesia. Delicious, versatile and quick to prepare tempeh readily accepts your favorite sauces, marinades and dry rub seasonings.

Wedge Oak Farm: Potsticker Sausage: this sausage tastes like the filling of a Potsticker or dumpling. Rich with Scallion, ginger, garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil. Try it with your favorite Egg roll in a Bowl recipe….Boudin Sausage- a traditional Cajun sausage made with pork, rice, and loaded with garlic, onion, bell peppers, scallion and parsley. Get ready for Marti Gras 2020 or anytime of the year…
Honky Tonk Cheesesteak Sausage-
beef, white cheddar, jalapeños, and bacon. We like to call it Honky Tonk cause it is hot and smoky….
Winter Goose- “poultry-only” sausage rich with all spice and cloves. A delicious way to try goose.

Flying S Farms: Garlic and Onions still available. Our Fluffy Bottom Girls are busy producing delicious eggs. Our Sour Dough Breads/Rolls are always great anytime of the year but during the Winter chilly days they go well with soups and stews or even a bread pudding.

Caney Fork Farms: Our Winter Season schedule with the Market is monthly, next times will be February 26th and March 25th, returning weekly in April 2020.
