Happy Happy FALL - the Market is Open!

I’ve been saying over the past few weeks, it is beginning to feel like fall and then BANG..a few 90 degree days, it was a HOT day on “The Porch” Wednesday but still enjoyable delivering products to our customers!

It is now official, the Autumnal Equinox is here! Now it’s really beginning to feel like Fall, shorter daylight, apples, fall wildflowers, grapes, dried gourds, nuts, mini Indian Corn and pumpkins are seen almost everywhere. You will also find several FALL items arriving on our Market this week.

We will have our ‘10 year Anniversary’ drawing this Wednesday on “The Porch”, each time you ordered over the past 10 weeks your name was put in a basket (actually a jar) to be put into ‘The Basket’ for a drawing to receive a $25 Gift Certificate and/or $10 Gift Certificates to our Market. You will be notified if you are a lucky winner. Thank you everyone that has participated with the Stones River Market for a great successful 10 years!

News from Growers:

The Krafty Kupboard has: Pumpkin Butter, Apple Butter, Soup Mixes, Cornbread mixes, Biscuit Mixes, Granola, Hummus and so much more!!
Organic, vegan, gluten-free and sooooo good!!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: As the leaves begin to fall (late this year because we’ve had so much rain), it’s time to focus on some fall-blooming perennials to brighten the garden. I’ve tried to find several that will do well in middle Tennessee, to help you with your empty spaces. Now is a great time to plant (between showers!), as the weather begins to turn just a little cooler.

Farrar Farm LLC: HOLIDAY PRE-ORDERS — Hard to believe that its already time to start our Holiday Pre-Orders. Reserve your item by selecting it and paying the deposit. Order early to have them for the holidays, lead time could be 2-3 months. They will order it from processor and let you know when it is ready. Some items sell out pretty quickly, so order early.

Short Mountain Cultures: have extended their offerings to several different types of Bulk Items; ranging from grains, beans, nuts, fruit and popcorn, more items will be coming soon.

Rainbow Hill Farm: several beautiful and wonderful tasting apples to choose from and vegetables.
