This is a dark rye sourdough made from organic fresh ground rye berries that has that deep nutty flavor enjoyed by pumpernickel lovers. In researching for the best pumpernickel recipe I could find, I discovered that pumpernickel is the German name for a "demon of intestinal wind". But as this is sourdough, and already fermented, it removes that unpleasant aspect, and just leaves the flavor to be enjoyed. :) Ingredients: Organic Rye Flour, Organic Whole Wheat Flour, Organic bread flour, sourdough culture(organic wheat flour, organic rye flour, water) coffee, cocoa, molasses, butter for pans.
