Our recipe has cinnamon/nutmeg/cloves as a delicious flavoring, along with sugar, balsamic vinegar and raisins. The taste is very similar to an apple pie, or a mincemeat pie!

12.5 to 15 pounds of sweet potatoes. Very nutritious and delicious. They store for about a year if kept in a cool, dry place. I tried a new recipe and it was a definite hit! Sweet Potato Cobbler. I peeled the potatoes and sliced them to resemble peach slices because that's what I normally make when I make a cobbler is peach cobbler. I cooked them until they were soft but not mushy. Reserve 2 cups of the water. Transfer water to another pot and combine 2 cups of sugar, 1 TBSP cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and 4 tbsp of flour. Stir and cook until sugar is dissolved. Add 1/2 c butter and cook until melted. Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a 9 x 13 cake pan. In a mixing bowl mix 1 cup of self-rising flour, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of milk, and the melted butter. Pour the batter into the pan. Layer the sweet potato slices on the batter. Pour the liquid over the top of it all and bake 400 degrees for 25 minutes. You can add chopped pecans to this as well.
