Market News

I apologize for the multiple emails but this is important news that didn’t need to be overlooked!

Nuance Coffee and Tea has added four new teas, to our offerings, this week.
The new teas are: Organic Egyptian Nile Delta Chamomile, Sasebo Breeze green tea, Tokyo Cherry Blossom green tea, and organic, fair trade, Hibiscus.

Sweet tea drinkers will also love these, regularly stocked, black teas that make the best iced teas you’ll ever taste: Assam Borengajuli Estate (India), Keemun Panda (China), Kambaa or Tinderet Estates (Kenya) and our Blueberry flavored black.
Enjoy!
Sean

Also,Bnjamin’s Fresh Sprouts

Benjamin will have more Fresh Organic Alfalfa Sprouts (on the “extras” table, at pickup, only right now)! Thank you for supporting his efforts! As he earns more money, he will have more and different types of sprouts! Thanks so much!

Market News

Welcome to a new order week and the warmer weather.

We appreciate you all so much and want to hold another giveaway! Just ask Ashleigh, Tracey LOVES to give things away!

Ok, here is how it will work this time, once again very simple. For every person who orders this week, they are entered. We will use a random number generator to draw the winner.
Then we will choose a vendor (via the same method) and the customer winner will receive a $15 certificate to use with that vendor only (paid by the market). This makes it exciting for both the customer AND the vendors:). Good luck and we hope enjoy these fun things!

This week brings us a note from Farrar Farms/Lynchburg Beef. They are back on the market with ground beef and Chorizo

More to come next week along with NEW ITEMS!! Be on the lookout for those!

Blue Porch is ALSO BACK! cold salads and cheese spreads are here in time for picnic season!

Welcome to both vendors!

Rocky Glade Farms has reported that the strawberries are finished for this year! THANK YOU to Jim, Julie and their boys for a delicious, beautiful crop of berries. We are thankful to have them on our market!

They do have this week:

Happy Rich greens and leaves
Radishes
Spinach
Kohlrabi
Swiss chard
Dov romaine
Red butterhead
Garlic Scapes
Kale
Collards
Broccoli!!!!
Broccoli Florets

Market News

Apologies for the announcement of berries last week and then had to pull them back out. Rocky Glade Farm WILL have some this week and they are sure to sell quickly! Here’s a list of what they are listing this week:

24 quarts and 3 gallons berries
Swiss chard
Gai-lan (chinese broccoli)
Broc raab
Kohlrabi
Parsley
Spinach
Hakurei turnips
Happy rich
Garlic scapes—NEW
Collards
Kale

Seeds of Success adds Cocoa Doodle-Doo (Sun Granola), a crunchy sunflower seed “granola”. Sunflower seeds, oats, and almonds are sweetened with a cocoa agave mixture. This granola has the appeal of cocoa krispies (without the refined sugar). Sunflower seeds provide protein, minerals, and vitamins. Enjoy this granola on its own, or add it to: cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit (sliced bananas).

Chef Jenny brought some in for us to taste last week and it is DELICIOUS and chocolaty. Try some with West Wind Farms yogurt or kefir or simply pop some in the mouth for a quick snack on the go!

Double Star Bar Farms has added an incredible Pesto that is wonderful with any of his breads… even the bagels! This is a summer must-have for quick meals or additions to more formal cooking.

SweetPea, White City Produce, and Rainbow Hill have new plant additions for your summer garden and perennial herb beds.

Market News

Happy first day of May!

Carol with Rainbow Hill Farm called us this morning letting us know that they are back on the market with lettuce this week AND they are now USDA Certified Organic! Congratulations!!

Linda from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has added a great hanging basket full of kitchen herb necessities customized by your tastes.

This Hanging Herb Garden is a porch or patio eye-catcher and ingredients for your next gourmet meal, all in one! Made especially for you or your loved one from herbs I have in the greenhouse, this special basket is sure to please gardener and gourmet alike. It’s easy care too – just water frequently and fertilize every two weeks per package directions to keep these herb plants growing strong all summer. The 14" diameter basket pictured contains, from center back, clockwise: Parsley, English Thyme, Variegated Oregano, and Purple Sage. All plants are large enough to begin harvesting. Specify in the comments which four herbs you would like me to use to customize your basket, and add an alternate choice as availability is somewhat limited. Available are the following: Sweet Basil, Lemon Balm, Oregano (Greek or variegated), Sage (Common, Golden, Purple), Thyme (Common, English, Lemon, Lime, or Silver-Edged), Salad Burnet, and Stevia

Double Star Bar Farms spring festival was postponed until May 14 due to forecasted storms. Mark your calendars! They will have items for sale, music, talks on cheesemaking, mushroom logs and more! Entry is just $5! While you are thinking of Double Star, think bagels! We know we do :D and appreciate every effort that Rod and Maura put into all they do! We hope this bit of rain gives them more and more asparagus to enjoy while its season lasts.

Thank you Jenny with Seeds of Success for setting up a sampling table and having plenty of extras to sell. It is always wonderful to meet our producers/growers and most of us enjoy meeting our valued customers.

Jenny has been working hard on new raw/dehydrated items for you. This week she offers decadent, dark chocolate Schatzie bites! (Don’t let the word dark in front of chocolate scare you away… these are DELICIOUS!)

We have eggs, eggs, eggs! Flying S , West Wind Farms , Wedge Oak all offer plenty of eggs right now!

Produce continues to roll in and be incredibly delicious and beautiful. Rocky Glade , Frontier Family and White City Produce are all keeping the produce department stocked very well for early season eating!

There is so much to be thankful for at all times and this is a time of abundance and spring renewal. May your days be abundant and your bodies and minds renewed this week. We thank you for your continued support of our market.

See you all Wednesday,

Tracey's Glasses

I apologize for another email this morning but have needed to send this since last Wednesday after pickup.

If anyone accidentally picked up a cheap, scratched pair of brown eyeglasses (not sunglasses and not readers) I would love to have them back.

They usually lay on the checkout table next to the register. We looked everywhere at L & L and through all our market things so I am hoping they show up in someone’s bag :D.

THANK YOU!!

Tracey
