Time to Order Local Food

Welcome back to another week of locally grown and made products. Did you enjoy yesterday’s hint of Fall? We are starting to see some of the Fall produce (lettuce and greens) on the Market but there is still plenty of summer produce (peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and squash) available.

Wedge Oak Farm has started taking reservations for Thanksgiving turkeys. A deposit will reserve your turkey with them.

Besides apples, Rainbow Hill Farm has added Kieffer pears this week. White City Produce and Greenhouse also has Bronze Muscadines listed in the fruits category.

You could still get a fall planting of potatoes growing with a Potato Growing Kit from Double Star Bar Farms.

Thank you for your orders last week.

Time to Order Local Food

Welcome to September and Happy Labor Day Weekend. Summer finally arrived this past week and really heated things up but that has not stopped plants from growing.

Items of interest this week include:

Another new product from Double Star Bar Farm is a Natural Bug Repellent.

From Maura “This all natural flying bug repellent keeps those pesky flying critters away WITHOUT all the harsh chemicals and oily slime of commercial repellents. It is made with water, lemon juice, peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil, vanilla extract, and a drop of dish soap to help the oils emulsify. These super fragrant ingredients are hated by so many bugs, so doesn’t it just make sense to use them in a spray to keep them away?

This great smelling spray can also be used in place of those commercial room/upholstery sprays (like fabreze) to freshen your room and furniture without harm to pets.

Sold in 4 oz. spray bottles."

Thank you for your orders last week.
