The Market is Back Open - A New Producer Joins

This post expired on November 17, 2023.

The Market is back open today with a good variety of locally grown and made products. We welcome a new producer – Carol’s Vibration Cooking. She brings sugar free fruit butters and kale chips to the Market.

Note about Thanksgiving week schedule. We will have our regular pick up for Murfreesboro customers. There will be no Nashville pick up that week. Nashville customers need to order any items for Thanksgiving this week.

Other news this week:

Cedar Thicket Farm has added an organic vanilla extract for baking or a gift.

Farmer Brown is taking a break this week to get ready for the McMinnville Craft Fair. They send a message to you – It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again. Farmer Brown’s would like to invite all our friends in Murfreesboro to stop by and see us at the McMinnville Craft Fair Thursday evening, Friday or Saturday at the McMinnville Civic Center. Getting ready for the show takes a lot of time, so we will be off the market this week. Many thanks to our customers.

From Dogwood Valley Greenhouse this week -

This week and next I will have Thanksgiving baskets lined with seasonal fabric and filled with three herb plants, commonly used in cooking at this time of the year. Included is a printed sign with names and uses of the plants. Please select from this list and specify herbs to be included: lemon balm; orange, pineapple, or grapefruit mint; Greek or variegated oregano; silver-edged or lime thyme. These will make beautiful hostess gifts at Thanksgiving time. NOTE: Plants will thrive if set into garden and are winter hardy.

I also have a limited supply of succulent planters. Smaller ones include 4 or 5 assorted succulents, and larger ones include 6 plants. These will brighten your table all winter, and make great Christmas gifts. Get yours soon!

Clearance priced hanging baskets, available through November: $5 each. Includes Flame Violet, Swedish Ivy (Green), and 3 different Wandering Jew colors (purple-and-silver or green-and-white or “Purple Heart”). I have only a couple of each left, so get yours now!

I have just a few Downy Lavender plants left, reduced to $5 each. Keep it inside in a sunny location all winter, and it will be big and healthy to transplant to the garden next spring. This is a novel type of lavender and well worth taking inside through winter.

How about roasted chestnuts by the fire? Ferris Family Farm brings those to us this week.

Wedge Oak Farm has added a dressing sausage made for the holiday season. It is made from pure Mangalitsas and is flavored as extra sage to pair with a table full of turkey and delicious sides!

Turkey News
Customers that have reserved turkeys from Wedge Oak Farm will pick them up this week. There is still time to order your turkey from both Wedge Oak Farm and West Wind Farms. All Wedge Oak Farm turkeys will be delivered this week. West Wind Farms turkeys will be delivered next week.

There are a lot of other new products on the Market. Check out the other categories for items that I have missed today.

Thank you for your orders last week.

John
