The Market is Back Open - Welcome to November

Did you remember to set your clocks back last night? The Market opened this morning as scheduled and there is a good variety of products for you. Did you enjoy sampling the teas from Nuance Coffee and Tea? I will continue to arrange more meet your farmer and producer nights at pick up.

Here are the specials for this week from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:

Help me clean up my dining room! Hanging baskets are on clearance, originally $10, reduced to $7, now on clearance for $5 each. Includes Creeping Jenny, Flame Violet, Swedish Ivy (Green), Wandering Jew (purple-and-silver or green-and-white or “Purple Heart”), and New Guinea Impatiens. I have only a couple of each left, so get yours now!

I have just a few Downy Lavender plants left. This tender lavender is regularly $7 each, now on sale for $5 each.

Thanksgiving baskets are now available. Each basket is lined with seasonal fabric and filled with three herbs, commonly used in cooking at this time of the year. Included is a printed sign with names and uses of the plants. Please select from this list and specify herbs to be included: lemon balm, chocolate mint, orange mint, Greek oregano, variegated oregano, lime thyme, and silver-edged thyme. These will make beautiful hostess gifts at Thanksgiving time. If intended as a gift, please order early to allow time for custom preparation. NOTE: Plants will thrive if set into garden and are winter hardy. Price includes basket and plant labels. These herb baskets are in limited supply so get yours soon!

I also have a limited supply of succulent planters. Smaller ones include 4 assorted succulents, and larger ones include 5. These will brighten your table all winter, and make great Christmas gifts. Get yours soon!

With the end of Daylight Savings Time, cold weather is not far behind. Flying S Farms has brought back their frozen soups including some vegan options. If you like hot peppers, Flying S Farmshas introduced a frozen hot pepper puree so you do not have to handle the peppers anymore. This can be added to any dish to add some heat to it.

This is the last week for Beauregard and Asian Purple sweet potatoes from Rocky Glade Farm. However they have brought back their Carolina Ruby sweets and have plenty of them.

Arkansas Black and Granny Smith apples from Rainbow Hill Farm make their first appearance this week.
