Wish you hadn’t “saved room for dessert?” Have that always full feeling? Digestion issues can be helped with this Spearmint-Orange Peel-Sage Medley so you can get on with your day (or night). Contains Spearmint, Orange Peel, Sage, Fennel, and Wormwood. Steep for 10-20 minutes depending on desired strength. Make a pint or quart of tea and drink 1/4 cup every 30 minutes until headache is gone, up to 4 cups daily. Drink hot, at room temperature, or iced. Avoid boiling the water while the herbs are present. Consider using a French press or easy to clean loose tea device (like those we offer in brewing accessories). Spearmint has been used to aid digestion, treat dizziness, nausea, and nasal congestion, and boost immunity. Orange peels contain limonene and flavonoids which appear to have anti-carcinogenic properties. Orange peels are also a natural source of pectin, which helps decrease the rise in blood sugar after a meal. Orange peels may also help with heartburn and help break down and expel congestion. Sage has been used to treat loss of appetite, gas (flatulence), stomach pain (gastritis), diarrhea, heartburn, overproduction of perspiration and saliva; depression, and memory loss. Fennel seed is used to treat digestion, gas, and intestinal pain. It calms dry coughs and ticklish throats. Wormwood is often used to treat appetitive loss, indigestion, gas, stomach ache, and PMS, and has mild antidepressant properties. It should not be used over extended periods (over two weeks) without a break of several days.
