This is actually one of the stranger early spring perennials... Mukdenia rossii. I'm sorry that it doesn't have a common name, since that Latin name is a mouthful. Mukdenia rossii is native to rocky slopes and ravines in China, Manchuria and Korea. It is a compact herbaceous perennial similar to coral bells in habit and height. Palmate medium green leaves are tinged with bronze and attractive throughout the growing season. White, bell-shaped flowers rise above the foliage clump to 16” tall in March and April. Best grown in moist, fertile, well-drained soils in part shade, it appreciates afternoon shade or sun dappled shade in the south. Plants spread over time by short creeping rhizomes, and may self-seed in optimum growing conditions.

Our vanilla sugar is the perfect way to infuse scrumptious vanilla flavor into all of your baking or beverages - coffee, tea etc. We take organic raw cane sugar, scrape out the vanilla bean paste, blend it into the sugar then add the emptied pods to infuse the sugar for a minimum of 2 weeks. Once ready, we remove the pods & jar for you. We use organic Madagascar vanilla beans. Anything you bake will be better with this sugar. Pair with our homemade vanilla extract (sold separately) for the ultimate dynamic duo!
